The History of the Button is returning. After a (checks watch) seventeen year hiatus, it's time to retell the story, only better. From cameras and flashlights to the digital explosion of today. But now, is the history of the button more relevant than ever before?

This time, the history of the button is going to become a book. That's a ways away, but it will happen. Come join in the fun as I discover new things about the devices that we use daily, how they changed us, and then how we never looked back once they were set within our lives.

The start of the history will be the same: cameras, flashlights, doorbells, light switches and so on. Then kitchen appliances, radios, television, remote controls and more. From there, buttons become digital, beginning with the Macintosh, then the Web, then the explosion that we have today.

But how did buttons change people's lives? What changed once buttons appeared on their favorite devices? Which of them have added, or subtracted, from how we think about the world?
