Stop icon: a question answered

Following up from yesterday’s post on printer icons

Reader Altissima provided a key answer for understanding the Stop icon used on printers and copiers.

According to this Wikipedia entry, this variation of the Stop sign was used for decades in Europe before the red octagon became an international standard.

For me, this is enough backstory to understand why the Stop icon on many devices is what it is. It clearly evolved from European Stop signs. So the next question is, on what product did this first happen? On a European product seems to be the most likely answer.
